Luis Palmero
Nace en San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, 1957.
Inicia sus pasos en la pintura en 1978.
Obtiene el título de licenciado en Bellas Artes por la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Barcelona en 1984.

Ejerce como profesor asociado a tiempo completo en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife en 1990.
Obtiene el título de doctor en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de La Laguna en 1997.
Obtiene el título de Profesor Titular de Universidad por la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de La Laguna en 1999.
Participa en la 17 Bienal de Pintura Ciudad de Zamora, obteniendo el primer premio de la Bienal en 2004.
Obtiene El Premio Villa de Madrid de Pintura 2005 (Francisco de Goya) a la mejor exposición en Madrid en 2006.

Ha explorado el minimalismo. Su trabajo se ha desarrollado con continuos cambios impuestos por un análisis constante de su obra, donde plantea «una geometría sencilla pero cargada de contenido».
Para Palmero el proceso creador es una forma de liberarse como ser humano, y su obra gira en torno a un proyecto selectivo que dé sentido a los cambios, buscando variaciones de una misma imagen. Su lenguaje visual se convierte en un esfuerzo de síntesis y contención.

He takes his first steps in painting in 1978.
He obtains a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelona in 1984.

He starts working as a full-time associate professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of La Laguna, Tenerife in 1990.
He obtains a doctorate in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna in 1997.
He obtains the title of University Professor from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of La Laguna in 1999.
He participates in the 17 Ciudad de Zamora Biennial of Painting, obtaining the first prize of the Biennial in 2004.
He obtains the Villa de Madrid Painting Award 2005 (Francisco de Goya) for the best exhibition in Madrid in 2006.

Throughout his career, he has explored minimalism. His work has been developed with continuous changes imposed by constant analysis, where he proposes «a simple geometry but loaded with content».
For Palmero, the creative process is a way to free oneself as a human being. His work revolves around a selective project that gives meaning to the changes through variations of the same image.
His visual language becomes an effort of synthesis and containment.
